Is an in-home personal trainer worth it in Singapore?

In-home PT in Singapore costs $10 to $20 more per session than gym PT, but the maths is rarely about the per-session price. It's about how many sessions you actually do.

When in-home wins

  • You skip gym sessions because of the commute. In-home removes that excuse entirely.
  • You have a young child and can't commit to a fixed gym window.
  • You're recovering from an injury and prefer to train where you're comfortable.
  • You only need bodyweight, dumbbells and a mat, and your trainer brings the kit.

When the gym wins

  • You're chasing a strength goal that needs barbells, racks or heavy machines.
  • You like the energy of training around other people.
  • Your gym membership is paid and you'll go without the trainer too.

The honest cost comparison

A 10-pack of in-home PT in Singapore is roughly $600 to $800 (gym packs are $480 to $700). If you skip 3 of every 10 gym sessions because of the commute, the in-home pack is the same or cheaper per session you actually finish.
